Foot To Speech, or «FTS,» is an «innovative» application currently under development designed to increase the «typing speed» of a young man who only has one foot to express himself.
He currently uses a «plastic tablet» specially designed to allow him to construct sentences that can be interpreted by his communication partners.
This did not stop him from pursuing brilliant studies and obtaining a degree in advanced literature!
But FTS also aims to leverage the old «T9» keyboard to increase typing speed compared to a standard 26-letter keyboard, by utilizing a dictionary, prediction, and AI if possible, finishing with speech synthesis and optionally copying the typed text to another application (email, GDocs...).
The project is developed in Unity and will soon be available as Open-Source so that it can be adapted to the needs of others and benefit the greatest number of people.
